Meet Troy

Real Wyoming

 

 Troy was born in Casper, but grew up in the Big Horn Basin. His maternal grandparents homesteaded near Deaver, while his paternal grandmother grew up in Kane (near Lovell). With relatives all over the Basin, Troy spent summers on family farms and ranches, and more than a few summers with his grandparents in Powell. 
Immediately after graduating from Natrona County High School, Troy entered the US Army, planning on making a career of it. After 5 years, those plans changed and Troy left the military. 

Troy went to work through the Carpenter's Union, but when the Union decided to support Handgun Control  Inc, Troy stood for his convictions and left the union. Supporting a wife and four kids delivering pizzas while he attended college classes at Casper College, majoring in History and Secondary Eucation.  Unfortunately, refusing to join a teacher's union will keep a person from getting hired in many districts in Wyoming, so Troy went back to construction. A job offer led him to move to Powell, and Troy discovered that he still loved the town. Still working as a carpenter, he lives in Powell with his 16 year old son (the youngest of his 5 kids), and is active in his community, and still stands for his beliefs.

Troy has been active standing up for conservative values since waving a Reagan/ Bush flag while his mother was working on a campaign. Troy worked for several conservative causes until the Natrona County Commission passed a law that infringed on property owner's rights (a law that has been overturned by the state Supreme Court), so Troy took action. He ran for County Commission with the specific intent of getting a rino out of office. That first rino-hunt netted not only the intended target, but several others, including a mayor of Casper. Troy also founded an organization called Citizens for a Constitutional Government, which resulted in IRS audits for 7 years. 

After moving to Powell, Troy was elected to the Park County Republican Central Committee as precinct committeeman for precinct 9-7. That led to invitations to join the Park County Republican Men's Club. After joining, he was elected to the position of Secretary, the position he holds today. He also serves as co-chairman of Wyoming Parents in Action, a group that ensures that our schools behave themselves. In 2022, Troy was elected to serve as a delegate to the Republican state convention  as a delegate for Park County. In every position, Troy has shown the leadership and determination Powell needs in Cheyenne, standing for his principles, even when it cost him personally and professionally.
